Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Solution Architect for data-driven projects. You will design scalable data platforms, leverage ML, and drive architecture decisions across on-prem and cloud deployments.

You will lead pre-sale activities and create deep-dive architecture documentation for customers and teams. The role emphasizes strong communication with stakeholders, broad technology domain knowledge, and hands-on experience with modern data and analytics ecosystems.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Software Architect.
• +
• Experience in requirements engineering, solution architecture, systems development, deployment and maintenance.
• Knowledge of architecture, design patterns and the technological landscape in at least 3 technology domains (Data Platforms, IoT, ML, Backend, Mobile, etc.).
• Background in the technology's internals for at least 1 technology domain.
• Understanding of the core concepts in data and analytics platform architectures, data warehousing, business intelligence, data management, integration, security and operations areas.
• Experience in design, implementation, deployment, troubleshooting and replatforming of distributed systems both on premises and in the Cloud.
• Knowledge of the entire architecture design process (requirements, quality attributes, technology selection, estimation, proposal verification, documentation, etc.).
• Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle using different development methodologies and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing & ETL frameworks such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Databricks.
• Familiarity with distributed environments such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS ECS.
• Familiarity with analytical data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, AWS SQL DB, GCP Cloud SQL.
• Familiarity with lightweight/serverless compute services such as AWS Lambda Functions, GCP Cloud Functions, Azure Functions.
• Familiarity with No-SQL/specialized databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB, Azure Cosmos DB.
• Familiarity with data catalogs & metadata management tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica.
• Familiarity with integration & flow management tools such as AWS Step Functions, Airflow/GCP Cloud Composer, Azure Data Factory.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities
