Chubb is seeking a Platform Engineer to architect and modernize our technology stack for cloud-native development. You will enable CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC, and deliver on-demand environments while collaborating with software engineers, QA, and product owners.

The role requires experience in modern DevOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and SOA, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/Software Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices including CI/CD and DevOps.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Azure experience is not required.
• Solid experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with microservices and SOA.
• Knowledge of Git, configuration management, and IaC (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, ARM).
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration, plus clear communication.

Descripción del empleo

Responsibilities

1. Architect, design, and implement solutions to modernize our existing technology stack to support cloud-native development.
2. Enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the application deployment process.
3. Leverage Infrastructure as Code tools to implement desired state configuration, implement and deliver environments on demand.
4. Collaborate with software engineers, quality assurance teams, and product owners to gather requirements and provide technical guidance for new features and enhancements.
5. Optimize application performance and scalability by adopting best practices and emerging technologies, including microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
6. Ensure application security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
7. Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
8. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, CI/CD workflows, and API specifications.
9. Train and support development teams on new tools, processes, and technologies adopted.
10. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for improvements and innovations.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or a similar role.
3. Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
4. Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including experience with cloud-native application development. We use Azure but Azure-specific experience is not required.
5. Solid experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
6. Familiarity with modern microservices architecture and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
7. Knowledge of source control systems (e.g., Git), configuration management tools, and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager).
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
9. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
