Jobtailor in Bogotá seeks a Software Engineer to develop our locking technology and data-driven credit products for emerging markets. You will contribute to world-class app design, frontend and backend systems, and partner API integrations.

The role focuses on Python backend development, Vue.js frontend work, and building scalable RESTful services within a microservices architecture. Strong collaboration and code quality are expected.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field.
• 7+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in software engineering principles, design patterns and modern development practices.
• Experience developing backend applications using Python.
• Experience building scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) including schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with Vue.js and modern JavaScript.
• Experience designing microservices and SOA.
• Experience integrating internal and third-party APIs.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing, TDD, and code reviews.
• Experience documenting software functionality and reviewing others’ work.

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing our unique locking technology that combines our proprietary “secret sauce” and the effective use of data to give users credit-based products in emerging markets, as well as focused on world-class app design, web frontend and backend, and partner API integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in software engineering principles, design patterns, and modern development practices.
• Strong experience developing backend applications using Python.
• Experience building scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Strong experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar SQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing frontend applications using Vue.js and modern JavaScript.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices and service-oriented architectures.
