Sombra Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin) to design and build scalable backend services in a hybrid/remote setup in Colombia (Medellín). You will drive AI-assisted development, shape architecture decisions, and contribute to engineering standards.

The role requires independent work in a distributed team and strong ownership mindset. You will collaborate with product and engineering to deliver platform capabilities, participate in reviews, testing, and deployment, and advance AI

Formación

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer
• Strong experience with Kotlin; strong Java experience is also accepted
• Experience using AI tools throughout software development, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment
• Strong understanding of software design and architecture principles
• Experience building scalable backend services
• Ability to write maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code
• Strong communication skills and an ownership mindset
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in distributed teams
