INGEPSY is seeking a Senior SAP Data Consultant to lead end-to-end design, development and architecture of SAP data and analytics across SAP BW, Datasphere and SAC. The role involves guiding a team, engaging senior stakeholders, and delivering semantic-layer driven data products for BI, AI and decision-making.

Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite per week in Medellín, Colombia, with design discussions and solution ideation alongside business partners and IT teams.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior SAP Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development and architecture of SAP data and analytics solutions across SAP BW, Embedded Analytics and SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud), including designing a semantic-layer-driven data product ecosystem where data elements are combined within SAP Datasphere and Microsoft Fabric’s semantic models to support business intelligence, AI, and operational decision‑making, while guiding a team and engaging senior business stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and actively contribute to the architecture, design and build of enterprise data models and data flows across SAP BW, HANA and SAP BDC (Datasphere and SAC) to support reporting, planning and advanced analytics.
• Design, develop and implement semantic layers, virtual data models, and CDS/HANA views to enable Embedded Analytics on S/4HANA and other SAP systems.
• Define target architecture and modelling standards for SAP Datasphere (replication flows, data flows, transformation flows, semantic models) and SAC (models, stories, dashboards, planning models), while also implementing key artifacts yourself.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable technical data and analytics solutions, including fit-gap analysis and roadmap input, and prototype solutions where needed.
• Design, develop and review data models, ETL/ELT logic, and performance tuning in BW, HANA and Datasphere to ensure data quality, reusability and performance.
• Establish and apply best practices for data management, security, lifecycle management and data governance across SAP analytics platforms.
• Lead and mentor a team of consultants and developers, providing guidance on design decisions, code reviews, and solution quality, while serving as a senior hands‑on developer on complex tasks.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, run design and requirement workshops, and communicate status, risks and issues to senior business and IT leadership.
• Design and implement integrations of SAP and non?SAP data sources, including exposing SAP data to downstream tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric where appropriate.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in SAP data warehousing and analytics, with significant hands‑on work in SAP BW, Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud Embedded Analytics and HANA-based solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SAP BW data modelling (InfoProviders/ADSOs, CompositeProviders, Open ODS, process chains, ETL) and performance optimisation.
• Solid experience with Native HANA modelling (Attribute/Analytical/Calculation views, SQLScript, CDS views) and optimisation techniques.
• Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on SAP Business Data Cloud, especially SAP Datasphere (replication flows, data flows, transformation flows, data modelling) integrated with SAP BW and S/4HANA.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for reporting and/or planning: model design, stories, dashboards, permissions and performance tuning.
• Strong hands‑on coding and debugging experience in languages such as ABAP, SQL and Python, including writing performant data extraction and transformation logic, troubleshooting complex issues, and optimising code for large-scale SAP data and analytics solutions.
• Good understanding of S/4HANA Embedded Analytics concepts and exposure to virtual data models for operational analytics.
• Demonstrated experience in solution architecture for analytics platforms, including conceptual, logical and physical data model design.
• Excellent team leadership skills, including coaching, task delegation, and quality assurance of deliverables.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working directly with business sponsors, product owners and senior management.
• Experience in migrating or converting SAP BW/BW4HANA solutions to SAP Datasphere, including assessment of existing objects, redesign of data models and flows, and validation to ensure functional and performance parity or improvement.
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles, including data mesh/data products, medallion architecture, lakehouse concepts, event‑driven integration, and how SAP (BW, Datasphere, HANA) and Microsoft Fabric fit into an enterprise data ecosystem.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses, data engineering pipelines, and integration with SAP data sources.?
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI for enterprise reporting on top of SAP and non?SAP data models.?
• Knowledge of advanced analytics or predictive capabilities in SAC or HANA (e.g. SAC Smart features, predictive scenarios).
• Experience with S4 migration and impacts to BW architecture is nice to have.
• Working knowledge of AI and advanced analytics concepts, including using SAP Datasphere/SAC and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI as data foundations for machine learning, predictive models, and GenAI use cases in partnership with data science teams.
