EPAM Systems in Colombia seeks a Senior Python Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and modern cloud platforms. You will work on APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures, collaborating with DevOps, QA, product, and engineering teams to deliver robust systems.

Ideal candidates have strong Python backend experience, familiarity with FastAPI/Flask/Django, and hands-on work with AWS/Azure/GCP, databases, and CI/CD practices.

Formación

• Solid experience in Python backend development.
• Familiarity with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Practical experience using AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Proven background building REST APIs and microservices.
• Sound knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to CI/CD, testing and modern software engineering practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer who brings strong backend development expertise along with a solid grasp of cloud-native solutions. The right candidate will be capable of designing, building and maintaining scalable backend services through Python and modern cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and APIs with Python


• Architect scalable cloud-based solutions and microservices


• Handle databases, queues, cloud services and integrations


• Partner with DevOps, QA, product and engineering teams


• Take part in architecture discussions and technical decision-making


• Maintain code quality, security, performance and reliability


• Assist with deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of production systems

Requirements

• Solid experience in Python backend development


• Familiarity with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask or Django


• Practical experience using AWS, Azure or GCP


• Proven background building REST APIs and microservices

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes


• Background in serverless architectures


• Familiarity with data pipelines or event-driven architectures


• Understanding of Terraform or infrastructure as code
