Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a senior backend engineer to join our rapidly growing team. You will design and implement scalable, low-latency API services in AWS, focusing on secure, multi-tenant architectures and robust data handling.

Collaboration with frontend, QA, and other teams is essential to deliver high-quality applications. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of backend experience with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and strong SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS and scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Knowledge of multi-tenant architectures and secure data handling.
• Ability to overlap US business hours; Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services in AWS with low latency.
• Build secure multi-tenant systems and integrate with frontend apps.
• Develop and test RESTful APIs and SQL migrations; write integration tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support deployments via CI/CD.
