Job summary

Roca Alliances is seeking a Senior iOS Developer to design, maintain and evolve high-performance mobile apps for a global SaaS client. You will work with a codebase mixing SwiftUI and UIKit, modernizing it to keep apps functional with limited connectivity.

The role requires delivering robust offline-first features, integrating UIHostingController, and refining performance. Strong English, hands-on refactoring, and DI experience are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the SwiftUI lifecycle and triggers for view evaluation.
• Experience with UIKit and Storyboards.
• Experience on mixed SwiftUI + UIKit projects including UIHostingController.
• At least one completed refactor or migration of a codebase.
• Knowledge of dependency injection and at least one DI library.
• Experience with local databases (SQLite/GRDB) and NoSQL solutions.
• Apps that work offline or with poor connectivity.
• Regular use of AI tools in development and understanding of their limits (async/await).
• Advanced English proficiency.

Senior iOS Developer (SwiftUI / UIKit / Offline-first)

About the client

Our client is a global SaaS company building field service management software. Its mobile apps are used every day by field technicians who often work with poor or no connectivity, with teams across the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and North America.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to design, maintain and evolve high-performance mobile applications. You will work on a codebase that combines SwiftUI and UIKit, take part in modernizing it, and build apps that keep working when there is no connection or the signal is weak.

What you'll do

• - Design and implement features in SwiftUI and UIKit with clean, testable and scalable code.


• - Integrate SwiftUI into UIKit screens and vice versa using UIHostingController.


• - Optimize view performance by controlling what triggers view re-evaluation.


• - Take part in refactors and code migrations, such as Storyboards/UIKit to SwiftUI.


• - Apply dependency injection to decouple components and make testing easier.


• - Implement local persistence and sync strategies for offline use.


• - Build asynchronous flows with async/await and critically review AI-generated code.


• - Work with product, design and QA, and take part in code reviews.

Required
