Halaxia in Bogotá, Colombia seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced ML models across our products and services.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and help shape ML strategy and data pipelines in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Formación

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or related field.
• Proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming (Python, R).
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms and best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based ML platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively.

Job Summary of the Senior Machine Learning Engineer.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models and solutions to address complex business problems and drive innovation across our products and services.

What it will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, frame, and prioritize machine learning use cases and applications.
• Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning algorithms and models to solve complex business problems and enhance product capabilities.
• Evaluate and validate the performance of machine learning models using appropriate metrics and methodologies.
• Implement and maintain robust data pipelines for model training, validation, and deployment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of machine learning and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new techniques and technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively communicate the value and limitations of machine learning solutions and manage expectations.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new Machine Learning Engineers, including interviewing candidates and providing input on hiring decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to define project requirements and align machine learning solutions with business goals.
• Monitor team performance and progress, providing regular feedback and addressing any issues that may arise to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.

What do we need from you?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or a related field.
• Proficient in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, principles, and best practices
• Experience with cloud-based machine learning platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Must have experience working in an Agile environment.
