Applaudo is seeking an experienced Senior Functional QA Engineer to architect test strategies for SaaS billing and cloud-data platforms. The role emphasizes validating configurations, integrations, and data parity across complex workflows, with hands-on testing through web interfaces and REST APIs.

You will design comprehensive test plans, execute tests, and document results while collaborating with platform admins and business stakeholders.

• 5+ years of professional experience in Functional Quality Assurance for SaaS/enterprise apps.
• Experience testing via web-based graphical interfaces.
• Ability to create structured test plans covering workflows, integrations, negative/boundary/edge cases.
• Experience testing billing/subscription workflows, including invoices and payments.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• REST API testing with Postman/Newman or equivalent.
• Read-level SQL to interpret results and data-parity reports.
• Proficient English communication.
• Availability to overlap Pacific Time business hours.

Responsabilidades

• Create and maintain a comprehensive functional testing plan for SaaS billing and cloud-data integrations.
• Design test scenarios for billing configurations, subscription lifecycles, invoices, payments, and revenue data flows.
• Execute functional tests through the platform's graphical interfaces.
• Validate configurations, workflows, and integration touchpoints across scenarios.
• Coordinate testing with admins and stakeholders to ensure coverage and outcomes.
• Validate REST API touchpoints using Postman, Newman, or equivalents.
• Review data-parity reports and queries to identify anomalies.
• Document test cases, execution evidence, results, defects, and retesting outcomes.
• Collaborate with business and engineering stakeholders to align coverage with rules and behavior.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, and quality concerns clearly.
• Perform regression testing to ensure fixes do not affect related workflows.

You are an experienced Senior Functional QA Engineer who enjoys understanding complex business workflows and uncovering risks beyond standard happy-path scenarios. You bring a strong quality mindset to SaaS and enterprise environments, with the ability to understand how configurations, transactional processes, integrations, and downstream data flows interact across a broader ecosystem.

You are comfortable independently turning complex requirements into structured test strategies, executing detailed functional testing through web-based interfaces, and validating integration points and existing data-parity results. You bring strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and disciplined documentation practices, while collaborating effectively with platform administrators, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Note: This is a temporary 6-month opportunity requiring consistent overlap with Pacific Time business hours.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Functional Quality Assurance, including hands-on testing of complex SaaS or enterprise applications.
• Strong experience performing functional testing directly through web-based graphical interfaces.
• Proven ability to independently create structured and comprehensive test plans covering business workflows, integrations, negative scenarios, boundary conditions, and edge cases.
• Hands-on experience testing billing or subscription workflows, including subscription changes, mid-cycle modifications, invoice generation, and payment events.
• Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on REST API testing experience using Postman, Newman, or equivalent tools.
• Read-level SQL knowledge, with the ability to interpret query results and data-parity reports to identify anomalies and discrepancies.
• Ability to facilitate collaborative testing exercises with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to identify non-obvious failure scenarios.
• Detail-oriented documentation skills, including maintaining test cases, execution evidence, results, and defect logs.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Availability to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.

Nice to Have:

• Hands-on experience with Zuora Billing, Revenue, or Subscription Management interfaces.
• Experience participating in billing-platform migrations, ERP transitions, or comparable system-integration initiatives.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms or data warehouses, particularly GCP or BigQuery.
• Experience using automated regression-testing frameworks such as Cypress or pytest.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or an equivalent testing credential.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a comprehensive functional testing plan for SaaS billing and cloud-data integrations.
• Design test scenarios covering billing configurations, subscription lifecycle workflows, invoice generation, payment processing, and revenue-related data flows.
• Execute functional tests primarily through the platform’s graphical interfaces.
• Validate configurations, business workflows, and integration touchpoints across standard, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.
• Coordinate testing exercises with platform administrators and technical stakeholders, ensuring clear responsibilities, coverage, and expected outcomes.
• Validate REST API integration touchpoints using Postman, Newman, or equivalent tools.
• Review existing data-parity reports and query results to identify anomalies and flag discrepancies for further investigation.
• Document test cases, execution evidence, results, defects, and retesting outcomes to maintain a complete audit trail.
• Collaborate with business and engineering stakeholders to align functional test coverage with business rules and integration behavior.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, defects, and quality concerns clearly and proactively.
• Perform regression testing and confirm that resolved defects do not negatively affect related billing or subscription workflows.
