Job summary

EPAM Systems in Colombia seeks a Senior Full Stack Developer (JS) with strong AI knowledge to join our team. You will architect and implement scalable web applications using modern JavaScript ecosystems and AI capabilities, collaborating with product, design, and data science teams to define requirements.

You will optimize performance, drive production-ready features, mentor engineers, and contribute to architectural modernization across the org.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise in full stack development with client and server architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence concepts and ML integrations.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience writing unit tests with modern JS frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable web applications using modern JavaScript ecosystems and advanced AI capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional product, design, and data science teams to define feature requirements and technical specifications.
• Optimize client-side and server-side components for maximum performance, responsiveness, and seamless user experience.
• Integrate state-of-the-art machine learning models and AI services into production-grade web workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices and internal coding standards.
• Design and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies to ensure robust software quality.
• Configure, maintain, and streamline bundling, build pipelines, and task automation for efficient development cycles.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and champion engineering culture growth.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production incidents across the entire application stack.
• Participate in architectural planning sessions and drive technological modernization initiatives across the engineering department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional software development experience demonstrating progressive technical responsibility
• Comprehensive expertise in Full Stack Development, encompassing both responsive client-side interfaces and robust server-side backend architectures
• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, machine learning integrations, and intelligent feature implementation
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript for building dynamic, high-performance web applications and asynchronous workflows
• Extensive hands-on experience with React for creating modular, reusable UI components and managing complex state management flows
• Strong backend development skills using Node.js to build scalable asynchronous RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side logic
• Experience utilizing Python for data processing, AI model interfacing, or backend services
• Familiarity with Java for enterprise-grade backend service integration and robust service architecture
• Knowledge of Go for developing high-performance concurrent backend microservices and utilities
• Experience writing robust unit tests and assertions using Testify
• Proficiency with Webpack for advanced asset bundling, code splitting, and optimization
• Familiarity with Jest for running modern JavaScript unit tests and snapshot testing
• Experience configuring and running Karma test runner across multiple browsers
• Knowledge of Mocha for flexible asynchronous JavaScript testing and assertion structuring
• Experience automating build workflows, minification, and compilation tasks using Gulp
• Familiarity with Grunt for legacy task automation and project build management
• Fluent English communication skills at a B2 level or higher, enabling effective collaboration in a distributed international team environment
