AECOM is seeking an Associate Director - Electrical Engineering (Data Centers) for our Bogota office to lead complex electrical design for data centers, focusing on reliability, scalability and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in data center power systems, proficiency with AutoCAD/ETAP/DIALux/SKM, knowledge of Uptime Institute/TIA‑942 standards, and advanced English. This leadership role also involves coordinating with mechanical teams and delivering design documentation.

Formación

• 8+ years of professional electrical engineering experience focused on data center infrastructure.
• Experience designing data center electrical systems: power distribution, backup power, and emergency systems.
• Strong knowledge of data center Tier topology and relevant standards (Uptime/TIA-942).
• Hands-on with AutoCAD, ETAP, DIALux, SKM Power Tools for design and analysis.
• Experience with arc flash calculations and short-circuit coordination studies.
• Ability to review contractor submittals (shop drawings, RFIs).
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for data centers.
• Advanced level of English, written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Design Electrical Systems for Data Centers with reliable, scalable power.
• Perform load calculations and capacity planning for IT and cooling.
• Select electrical equipment: transformers, switchgear, UPS, breakers, panels.
• Design for redundancy and fault tolerance with dual feeds and automatic switchover.
• Coordinate with mechanical/HVAC to meet power needs efficiently.
• Prepare design docs and specifications; communicate with clients and contractors.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting during installation.
• Stay informed on data center trends and emerging technologies.
