Sutherland in Bogotá, Colombia is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and operate secure cloud infrastructure. You’ll work with AWS networking, Terraform IaC, and Kubernetes to ensure reliability, security, and scalable performance.

Ideal candidates have hands-on AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes, plus strong scripting skills and English (B2+). This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bogotá with opportunities to influence CI/CD pipelines and cloud architecture.

Formación

• 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Networking, DevOps, or SRE.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including VPC, EC2, RDS, IAM, VPN, SGs, and load balancers.
• Strong Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters, incl networking and auth.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: implement CloudWatch-like monitoring and log health.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
• Scripting: Python and PowerShell/Perl for automation.
• Experience supporting production environments and incident resolution.
• Familiarity with Jenkins and GitHub as CI/CD/tools.
• English proficiency: B2 or higher.

Responsabilidades

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS networking components (VPCs, subnets, SGs).
• Provision and manage cloud infra using Terraform per IaC best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues across networking, Kubernetes, AWS, VPN, and infra.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes networking, authentication, and cluster connectivity.
• Configure secure connectivity between AWS resources (EC2, RDS, others).
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub).
• Implement cloud security best practices (encryption, firewall policies, IAM auth).
• Support database infra including RDS networking and connectivity.

We are looking for aSenior DevOps Engineerto join our team and support the design, deployment, and operation of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. This role combines expertise inAWS networking, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Kubernetes, and DevOps practicesto ensure the reliability, security, and performance of production environments. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills and hands‑on experience managing cloud networking, VPNs, firewalls, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud networking components, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT gateways, and VPN connections.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure usingTerraform following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to networking, Kubernetes clusters, AWS services, VPN connectivity, and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes networking, authentication, and cluster connectivity.
• Configure and maintain secure connectivity between AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, and other cloud services.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support and improve CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
• Implement cloud security best practices, including traffic encryption, firewall policies, IAM authentication, and network access controls.
• Support database infrastructure, including RDS networking, parameter groups, and connectivity.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Networking, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Hands‑on experience withAWS, including VPC, EC2, RDS, IAM, VPN, Security Groups, Route Tables, and Load Balancers.
• Strong experience withTerraform for Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Experience administering and troubleshootingKubernetes clusters, including networking and authentication.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring and logging (e.g. CloudWatch) to ensure the health of applications and infrastructure, and troubleshoot issues across the stack as they arise.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN technologies (IPsec), and network security principles.
• Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain Python (and PowerShell/Perl where relevant) scripts to automate build, deployment, and operational tasks, integrating tools and services.
• Experience supporting production environments and resolving infrastructure incidents.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such asJenkins and source control platforms such asGitHub.
• Experience with Linux system administration and scripting is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• English proficiency: B2 or higher.
