EPAM Systems in Colombia seeks a Senior Data Software Engineer to shape data architecture and lead delivery on complex projects. You will design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, build scalable data infra using Spark, Kafka, and ADF, and mentor delivery teams in agile environments.

Strong Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks experience are essential, with excellent English and collaboration across multinational teams.

Formación

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong core Python for data engineering tasks.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude Code.
• Experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics workflows.
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 or higher).

Responsabilidades

• Architect and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines, including large batch, micro-batch, and streaming systems.
• Build infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources using ADF, Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements to automate tasks and improve data delivery.
• Design and implement data services using Spring Boot, ReactJS, NoSQL, and related UI and API tools.
• Ensure governance of delivery management and production processes per the chosen delivery model.
• Act as single point of responsibility for delivery matters with top management and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership for delivery and ensure future-proof architecture and quality standards.
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria within an agile/scrum workflow.
• Coordinate across disciplines to align delivery efforts with customer processes and methodologies.
• Establish continuous delivery risk management strategy and monitor delivery lifecycle.
• Measure and improve delivery productivity over time.
• Serve as a consultant to Data Engineers for quality and timely delivery.
• Perform production support and deployment activities.

We are looking for a Senior Data Software Engineer to join our team. This role combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, offering the opportunity to shape data architecture while guiding delivery across complex projects. You will work closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions are delivered consistently. Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the code base for ETL and ELT pipelines, along with large batch, micro-batch, and streaming systems
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using ADF, Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability
• Design and implement data services solutions using technologies such as Spring Boot, ReactJS, NoSQL, and related UI and API tools
• Ensure governance of delivery management and production processes according to the selected delivery model
• Act as the single point of responsibility for delivery-related matters with top management and stakeholders, including escalations, upsells, and ramp-downs
• Provide technical leadership for delivery, ensuring a sound and future-proof architecture is planned and implementation meets required quality standards
• Write user stories and associated acceptance criteria within an agile/scrum workflow
• Coordinate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders to align delivery efforts
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with customer processes and methodologies, with strong familiarity in various delivery models and a focus on agile approaches
• Establish a continuous delivery risk management strategy that supports proactive decisions and actions throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Measure and improve delivery productivity over time
• Serve as a consultant to Data Engineers, supporting quality and timely delivery of their work
• Perform production support and deployment activities

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong core Python skills for data engineering tasks
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude Code
• Experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics workflows
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or higher)
