Job summary

Coforge is hiring a Senior Data & Knowledge Engineer to design and implement enterprise search architectures, ingestion pipelines, and knowledge graphs. You will work with Azure Document Intelligence, Azure AI Search, and Databricks to extract, embed, index, and retrieve information across unstructured and structured enterprise data.

The role requires 5+ years in data/analytics engineering, strong cloud data tooling, and a focus on data quality, governance, and secure access control.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data/Analytics Engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on with Azure Document Intelligence, Azure AI Search, Databricks, SQL.
• Experience building ingestion, transformation, enrichment, embedding, and indexing pipelines.
• Knowledge of vector search, embeddings, RAG, and enterprise retrieval.
• Experience designing knowledge graphs with Neo4j.
• Understanding of metadata, lineage, data quality, governance.
• Experience with structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Knowledge of secure retrieval patterns and access controls.
• Experience measuring retrieval relevance and knowledge quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/DS/IS.

Responsibilities

• Design RAG and enterprise search architectures and build ingestion, transformation, enrichment, document extraction, embedding, and indexing pipelines using Databricks.
• Build and maintain Azure AI Search, vector search, and access-controlled retrieval indexes with metadata, citations, lineage, data freshness, and security.
• Implement Azure Document Intelligence pipelines to extract structured information from PDFs, forms, engineering documents, reports, and scanned content.
• Design and maintain knowledge graph models for entities, relationships, metadata, lineage, and domain context while continuously optimizing retrieval relevance and knowledge quality.

• Experience designing and maintaining knowledge graphs using Neo4j or other graph database technologies.
• Strong understanding of metadata, lineage, data quality, governance, and knowledge management practices.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured enterprise data and document extraction patterns.
• Knowledge of secure retrieval patterns, filtering, citations, access controls, and data freshness.
• Experience measuring and optimizing retrieval relevance and knowledge quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced hands-on experience with Azure AI Search, Databricks, RAG, and vector-search solutions.
• Experience with document processing, chunking, embeddings, ranking, metadata, and citation design.
• Hands-on knowledge graph experience with Neo4j, RDF, graph databases, semantic modeling, ontology design, or entity-relationship mapping.
• Azure Data Engineer or Databricks certification.
