Blend is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to implement governance and privacy solutions across cloud data platforms. You will build scalable Snowflake-based data governance, automate PII discovery and masking, and drive data quality initiatives with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on execution, end-to-end delivery, and strong collaboration with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure privacy best practices and compliant data handling across enterprise workloads.

Formación

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and SQL.
• PII discovery and classification with confidence scoring.
• Experience implementing data masking using agents or automated frameworks.
• Experience with JSON data processing.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda) and data pipeline orchestration.

Responsabilidades

• Develop Snowflake-based data governance solutions to support secure and scalable data usage.
• Build automated data privacy processes including detection, classification, and remediation workflows.

• Implement data masking and obfuscation techniques, including agent-based approaches.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to act as a key executor in the implementation of data governance and privacy solutions for a high‑impact enterprise initiative. This role combines strong hands‑on data engineering expertise with a focus on data privacy, governance, and automation.

You will play a critical role in developing and implementing scalable solutions for sensitive data handling, ensuring compliance, and improving data quality across modern cloud data platforms.

What will you be doing?

• Develop and implement Snowflake‑based data governance solutions to support secure and scalable data usage.
• Build and maintain automated data privacy processes, including detection, classification, and remediation workflows.
• Execute PII discovery processes, including confidence scoring and validation of sensitive data identification.
• Implement data masking and obfuscation techniques, including agent‑based approaches.
• Support and execute data cleanup initiatives across multiple datasets and platforms.
• Assist with JSON field privacy remediation, ensuring proper handling of semi‑structured sensitive data.
• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to support governance and privacy use cases.
• Work with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, AgentCore) to orchestrate and automate data workflows.
• Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency, scalability, and repeatability of data processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align data governance and privacy solutions with business and compliance requirements.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across all implemented solutions.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a strong hands‑on focus.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and SQL (Must).
• Proven experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud data platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with PII discovery and classification, including confidence scoring (Must).
• Experience implementing data masking solutions using agents or automated frameworks (Must).
• Strong experience with JSON data processing and handling semi‑structured data.
• Experience with AWS services, including S3, Glue, Lambda, and data pipeline orchestration (Must).
• Experience developing automation scripts (Python or similar).
• Strong understanding of data privacy implementation and best practices.
• Ability to work as a hands‑on executor and independently drive solutions end‑to‑end.

Nice to have

• Background in Data Governance frameworks and best practices.
• Familiarity with CoCo and Cortex.
• Experience working in regulated environments or handling sensitive data.
