Cloudflare is seeking a Customer Engineer in Bogotá, Colombia, to drive technical go-to-market strategies and own the technical relationship from discovery to long‑term adoption and growth. You will work with the GTM team to validate architectures, onboard customers, and expand engagements using AI workflows.

Ideal candidates bring a background in Solutions or Sales Engineering, deep security and networking knowledge, and a commercial mindset with SaaS experience.

Qualifications

• Background in a customer-facing technical role like Solutions Engineering or Sales Engineering (leveling varies by experience).
• Expertise in web security, networking (DNS, routing, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure and enterprise architecture.
• Commercial mindset with knowledge of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
• Strong presentation skills to bridge deep tech details with business strategy at the C-suite level.

About The Role

The Customer Engineer (CE) drives the technical go-to-market strategy. You act as a trusted advisor who owns the technical relationship from first discovery to long-term adoption and account growth.

Team: GTM (Go-To-Market) organization

Reports to: Regional Customer Engineering Leader

Structure: You do not hand off customers after the initial sale.

Role Type: Quota-carrying technologist using AI workflows to cut down on busywork and focus on high-value architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Validation: Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, build custom architectures, and run product demos and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for Security, Networking, and Developer Platforms.


• Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Oversee technical onboarding and implementation. Serve as the main contact for the customer. Monitor health scores and telemetry to speed up time-to-value and fix bottlenecks.


• Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a variable quota tied to new business and account growth. Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to show return on investment (ROI) to executives.


• Trusted Advisory: Maintain deep relationships with key stakeholders through every stage—onboarding, maturity, renewal, and expansion.


• AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Act as an AI-augmented engineer. Use AI agents to automate routine tasks like RFP responses, sandbox provisioning, and basic telemetry monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Background in a customer-facing technical role like Solutions Engineering or Sales Engineering (leveling varies by experience).


• Technical Acumen: Expertise in web security, networking (DNS, routing, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.


• Commercial Mindset: Track record in a quota-carrying or revenue role with knowledge of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.


• Communication: Strong presentation skills to bridge deep tech details with C-suite business strategy.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Haves)

• Cloudflare AI Stack Experience: Hands-on work with Cloudflare's developer platform and AI tools (Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize) [15].


• Applied AI Knowledge: Experience with prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or RAG architectures.


• Coding/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for custom integration scripts and API connectors.
