Job summary

Pearl Talent is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to scale our data infrastructure for healthcare policy data. You will own end‑to‑end data pipelines, build LLM workflows, and improve scraper reliability while guiding part‑time and offshore engineers.

This is a fully remote role with EST overlap and collaboration with US/EU clients. You will design APIs, participate in architectural decisions, and ensure production systems run reliably with automated testing and deployment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering in production systems using Python.
• SQL and PostgreSQL experience for large datasets.
• Experience building pipelines that ingest, clean, and normalize unstructured data.
• Hands-on deployment/running of backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience reviewing code and owning architectural decisions on a shared codebase.
• English at C1 for daily calls with US‑based founders.

Responsibilities

• Scale the web scraping platform and its pipelines.
• Build LLM workflows to extract codes and rules from policy text.
• Improve reliability of scraper jobs and deployments.
• Review code and guide offshore engineers without people management.
• Design and maintain APIs for normalized policy data used by customers.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
