EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design production-grade AI agents, data pipelines, and tool APIs in a cloud-native Python environment. You will focus on safe data access patterns, observability, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable automated recommendations.

You will implement MCP-based data access, asynchronous handlers, and robust SQL analytics while ensuring high-quality tests and peer reviews across small engineering teams. Proactive ownership is expected.

Formación

• 3+ years of production Python development experience.
• 2+ years building LLM integrations or AI agents in backend services.
• Senior autonomy and ownership across design, implementation, and delivery.
• Strong project execution in small, self-managed teams.
• Expert Python with AsyncIO and modern backend patterns.
• Strong SQL skills for analytics and data integration.
• Proven REST API design with RFC 7807 error handling.

Responsabilidades

• Design production-grade AI agents and tool APIs for reasoning and recommendations.
• Build and maintain agent tools, system prompts, and JSON output parsing.
• Implement read-only MCP server for safe enterprise data access.
• Develop asynchronous task handlers triggering low-risk actions or tickets.
• Write and optimize SQL queries against normalized cost datasets.
• Implement observability with health probes, structured logs, and traces.
• Collaborate via peer reviews and tests to ensure quality.
