Job summary

ROVOP is expanding its team for international offshore projects and seeks experienced Senior ROV Pilot Technicians. You will be responsible for safe operations, pre/post checks, and reporting on progress and technical repairs.

You will mentor trainees and coordinate with shift supervisors to deliver high-quality subsea work. You will work in a dynamic global environment, supporting a diverse portfolio of ROV systems while maintaining the highest safety and operational standards.

• Conduct pre/post-dive checks and toolbox talks
• Assist supervisor in problem solving and project execution

• Mentor ROV trainees and supervise crews when required
• Know ROV handling system and subsystems in depth
• Assess weather and sea-state for safe ROV operations
• Pilot ROV independently in varying environmental conditions
• Maintain system inventory and documentation

Due to a strong and growing pipeline of international projects secured for 2026, ROVOP is expanding its team. We’re actively seeking experienced and skilled ROV professionals at all levels for immediate mobilisation to support a diverse portfolio of long-term operations across our expanding fleet of ROV systems and vessels worldwide.

Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the safety of themselves and others around them.
• Observe safe working practices and adhere to electrical principles and industry standards.
• Manage team members in an emergency.
• Communicate with team members, client and onshore management effectively.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety by setting an example to all ROVOP personnel.
• Be aware of responsibilities and actions when reporting accidents and incidents.
• Have an active role in the completion of task risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Adhere to all ROVOP policies and procedures.
• Assist ROV Supervisor to problem solve and conduct project in a professional manner.
• Responsible for the completion of all pre and post dive checks.
• Undertake launch and recovery operations as instructed by Shift Supervisor.
• Complete fault-finding tasks effectively with no supervision within an acceptable time frame.
• Responsible for ensuring constant communication with nominated deck personnel during launch and recovery procedures.
• Understands and ensures the full scope of work is undertaken and all relevant supporting documentation completed.
• Identifies all navigational aids and ensures they are fully operational.
• Responsible for ensuring all preventative and general maintenance is carried out.
• Fully understands the ROV operational and system manuals.
• Full knowledge of the ROV, handling system and all sub systems.
• Mentor ROV trainees as required.
• Responsible for system inventory updates.
• Be capable of assessing weather conditions and operational parameters for safe ROV operations.
• Pilot ROV independently and in most environmental conditions.
• Perform navigator and log keeping duties.
• Complete and submit written technical reports at the end of each offshore cycle relating to all aspects of the project and technical repairs carried out.
• Undertake training requirements, to obtain competent Senior ROV Pilot Technician status.
• Strive to learn new technical and operational issues while on the job.
• Good knowledge of 3rd party tooling and sensors and able to integrate and fault find accordingly.
• Be aware of the company's IMS system and be able to complete and submit all reports required effectively.
• Able to supervise teams if required to do so.
