Job summary

Lumenalta is seeking a Tech Lead, Data Engineering to own the technical direction of data initiatives while staying hands-on. You will bridge architecture, execution, and people leadership across data projects.

You will design scalable pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, AWS, and SQL, while mentoring engineers and guiding architectural decisions. Strong communication and English fluency are essential for collaboration across LATAM and US-time zones.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience as Tech Lead, Lead Data Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, Databricks and AWS.
• Background in data architecture, pipeline design, and distributed systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and architecture of data projects.
• Design and build scalable, production-grade data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, AWS, and SQL.
• Lead by example with hands-on development, code reviews, and technical decisions.
• Mentor and guide data engineers, promoting best practices and high engineering standards.
