Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Mid-level Remote Sensing Software Engineer to develop imaging and ML-enabled capabilities for satellite data. You will design Python pipelines, work with NASA-like toolchains, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on real-time and batch processing tasks.

The role requires 4+ years in image processing or related fields, Python expertise, and experience with ML frameworks. A TS/SCI clearance is desired, with a remote work model and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in domain research, image processing, or data exploitation.
Experience designing and implementing software applications using Agile methods.
Proficiency with Python and scientific Python packages (NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, xarray).
Experience with basic orbital mechanics.
Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Experience with large sensor datasets (HDF5) or cloud object storage.
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.

Responsibilities

Develop software tools for radiometric modeling and sensor geometry.
Implement imaging and signal processing workflows including motion compensation and super-resolution.
Build ML-enabled detection, anomaly identification, and object classification modules.
Design Python pipelines using NumPy, OpenCV, Astropy, SciPy for real time and batch processing.
Support orbital modeling tasks (SGP4, TLE ingestion, pose estimation).
Conduct imagery preprocessing like radiometric calibration and artifact correction.
Maintain reproducible environments using GitLab and containers.
Collaborate with astrodynamics SMEs, operations, and ML engineers.
