Job summary

BairesDev is actively seeking a Backend Engineer specializing in PHP to build and maintain high-performance web applications and APIs. You will modernize legacy systems and implement clean, scalable solutions aligned with modern software engineering standards.

Design, develop, and optimize backend services with PHP 7.4+/8+ using Laravel or Symfony. Build RESTful APIs, refactor legacy code, and ensure robust database design with MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL. Strong English is required.

Qualifications

• When 4+ years of backend engineering experience focusing on PHP development.
• Proven expertise with PHP 7.4+/8+ and MVC frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
• Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL skills with MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience refactoring legacy code for performance and maintainability.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using PHP 7.4+/8+ and frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party services.
• Lead refactoring efforts to improve codebase maintainability, performance, and security.
• Manage and optimize database schemas and queries using MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient technical implementations.
• Ensure high code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
