Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Computational Genomics Expert AI for a remote contractor assignment. You will design AI-evaluable tasks in genomics, craft realistic datasets, and implement multi-step analyses using Python and bioinformatics tools.

The role requires PhD/postdoc-level research, strong Python skills, and experience with genomic data, in a Linux environment. This contractor position is remote with 40 hours per week and an overlap of 4 hours with PST.

Qualifications

• PhD, postdoc, or equivalent research in bioinformatics or genomics.
• Strong hands-on Python programming.
• Experience analyzing genomic sequences or genomics datasets.
• Proficient in Linux/command-line environments.
• Solid understanding of computational genomics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging tasks in computational genomics and bioinformatics for AI evaluation.
• Create realistic tasks involving biological sequence and genomics datasets.
• Develop multi-step analyses using Python, command-line tools, and bioinformatics libraries.
• Create reference solutions, expected outputs, and objectively verifiable ground truths.
• Validate tasks for scientific correctness, reproducibility, and appropriate difficulty.
