Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support operations in Boca Grande. Responsibilities include prescription entry, claims adjudication, preparation and dispensing of medications, distribution, and inventory management.

Role requires interaction with patients, handling controlled substances, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. A Florida license/registration is required and at least six months of related experience is expected.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license/registration is required.
• Minimum of six months of related practice experience required.

Description

The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy operations by performing a variety of tasks, including prescription order entry, claims adjudication, medication preparation and dispensing, distribution, non‑sterile and sterile compounding, and inventory management. Responsibilities also include operating automated pharmacy devices and equipment, handling controlled substances, maintaining assigned areas, and providing effective communication with patients. This role requires assessing and addressing the age‑specific needs of patients and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Pharmacy Technician performs all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State - Registered Pharmacy Technician
• At least six (6) months of experience in a related practice setting is required.
