What You’ll Do

As a Lead IT Architect, you will work closely with clients to understand their issues, define IT strategies, architect solutions, win buy‑in for your recommendations, and collaborate with fellow BCGers to transform client potential into performance. You will be given end‑to‑end responsibility for larger, highly technical and more complex “modules” within a project and begin to develop specialized knowledge to help you solve clients’ problems. You will start to take on team lead responsibilities and demonstrate intellectual leadership.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You’ll Bring

Experience

• Minimum 10 years in data strategy, technical project management, or technology consulting with a proven track record in leading IT implementation projects.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in designing and managing scalable, high‑availability cloud architectures using major cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud.
• Skilled in the deployment and management of cloud‑native services, including serverless functions, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud security management, including identity and access management (IAM), security groups, and compliance policies.

Data Systems Expertise

• Deep understanding of cloud data services like Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, and comprehensive knowledge of cloud‑based database services such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, and Google Cloud SQL.
• Expertise in cloud‑based data integration and ETL tools like AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and Google Cloud Dataflow.
• Proficient in designing data replication and backup strategies across multiple regions for disaster recovery and high availability.

Desirable Expertise

• Experience in developing and enforcing cloud governance policies to ensure cost management, security compliance, and resource optimization within the cloud environment.
• Proficient in implementing cloud security strategies, including the use of tools for continuous monitoring and threat detection.

Interpersonal & Leadership Skills

• A strong analytical mindset for evaluating complex IT application landscapes and optimizing development processes.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and provide technical leadership.
• Up‑to‑date with the latest trends and best practices in data architecture to guide strategic decisions and innovations.

Industry Experience

• Strong experience in either banking or energy sector, demonstrating a proven track record in major projects and innovations within one of these industries.
