Crossing Hurdles is seeking a STEM - Physics Expert for a short-term remote contract role. The expert will design and solve challenging Physics problems to improve language models, collaborating closely with AI researchers to develop new evaluation benchmarks.

Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Physics and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. This position offers flexibility with up to 40 hours of work a week, focusing on high-quality outputs.

Position: STEM - Physics Expert (Task Based)

Type: Short-Term Contract (3 Months)

Compensation: $250 per approved task

Location: Remote

Commitment: Up to 40 hours per week with 4 hours overlap with PST

Role Responsibilities

• Design and solve challenging Physics problems to evaluate and improve large language models (LLMs)
• Create clear, high-quality, step-by-step solutions with well-articulated reasoning
• Collaborate with AI researchers to develop evaluation tasks focused on areas where models typically struggle
• Help define new Physics evaluation benchmarks spanning undergraduate to PhD-level topics
• Analyze and solve complex Physics problems using structured and logical approaches
• Explain Physics concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and Physics reasoning
• Provide detailed annotations, feedback, and reasoning for AI evaluation workflows

Requirements

• Master's, PhD, or Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience explaining complex Physics concepts clearly and effectively
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations
• Creative and lateral thinking abilities
• Excellent written communication and collaboration skills
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Access to a desktop/laptop with a reliable internet connection
• LinkedIn profile is mandatory in the resume

Additional Information

• Average task completion time: 6–8 hours
• Candidates will undergo background verification after onboarding
• Work allocation will begin only after verification is completed
