AgileEngine is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain PHP-based backend systems powering distributed services. You will apply strong OOP and design principles to keep APIs secure, scalable, and performant, with a hands-on approach and focus on clean code.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and Support, and requires experience in PHP production environments, REST/GraphQL API design, and secure authentication mechanisms.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE.
• 2 years backend experience in PHP production environments.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience building and maintaining backend systems and service integrations.
• Secure API design and auth concepts.
• Relational databases: MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration and documentation skills.
• Overlap with Western European Time.
• Weekend migration support when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain backend systems, APIs, and integrations.
• Contribute to distributed services and microservices for scalability and reliability.
• Apply OOP principles and architectural patterns for extensibility.
• Implement and maintain secure authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC).
• Utilize data structures, algorithms, and caching to optimize performance.
• Debug, profiling, and performance tuning across environments.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and Support.
• Participate in testing strategies with QA/QE for new and existing features.
• Adhere to code quality, security, and scalability standards.
• Peer code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain API specifications and implementation notes.
• Engage in engineering reviews, sprint ceremonies, and cross-team demos.
• Ensure open-source usage compliance.
