Pond & Company in Bogotá is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in gas compression systems to join our Energy team. You will specify, review, and oversee the design of mechanical equipment, packaged equipment, and piping to ensure safe, economical, and reliable operation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, at least 3 years of design experience with gas compression, and strong English communication to support U.S.-based teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering and design experience.
• Experience with gas compression systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is highly recommended.

Responsabilidades

• Specify, review, and oversee the design of mechanical equipment, packaged equipment, and piping systems.
• Develop specifications and data sheets for mechanical and packaged equipment, including gas compression equipment and related systems.
• Review and contribute equipment information to flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Identify materials of construction and evaluate compatibility requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations such as hoop stress, wall thickness, NPSHA, flow velocity, and pressure analyses.
• Support design, evaluation, and selection of gas compression systems and associated equipment.
• Prepare specifications detailing performance requirements and vendor drawing requirements.
• Participate in project and client meetings and design reviews.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in gas compression systems to join our growing Energy team in Bogotá. In this role, you will be responsible for specifying, reviewing, and overseeing the design of mechanical equipment, packaged equipment, and piping systems, ensuring they fulfill their intended process design safely, economically, and reliably.

• Perform engineering calculations and develop analysis models for projects.
• Develop specifications and data sheets for mechanical and packaged equipment, including gas compression equipment and related systems.
• Generate and maintain equipment and piping specialty item lists.
• Review and contribute equipment information to flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Identify suitable materials of construction and evaluate compatibility requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations, including piping hoop stress, piping wall thickness, NPSHA, flow velocity, pressure, and related analyses.
• Support the design, evaluation, and selection of gas compression systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Utilize web-based software and vendor-provided tools for preliminary equipment sizing and selection.
• Prepare specifications detailing performance requirements, specific components, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements.
• Provide mechanical engineering data and input to support the development of deliverables from other disciplines.
• Participate in project and client meetings, including facilitating design reviews.
• Identify, utilize, and interpret applicable industry codes and standards.
• Demonstrate a focus on safe, efficient, and cost-effective design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering and design experience.
• Required experience with gas compression systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is highly recommended.
