CI&T is seeking a senior AI architecture leader to design and scale next-generation AI solutions for a global medical technology client in Latin America. You’ll bridge business goals with engineering, data, and cloud teams to take ideas to production.

The role emphasizes hands-on architecture, prototyping, and responsible AI, with a focus on security, governance and scalable delivery across regions.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• 6+ years in software engineering, solution or cloud engineering, data/AI engineering or solution architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing and building AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.
• Solid working knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector search and AI agents.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs, microservices and cloud-native applications.
• Strong Python skills and ability to build prototypes and reference implementations.
• Good command of engineering practices: source control, testing, CI/CD and DevOps.
• Awareness of AI security, data privacy, Responsible AI and governance in enterprise settings.
• Fluent English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Design end-to-end AI solutions: Generative AI applications, LLM-powered workflows, intelligent agents and RAG.
• Turn business requirements into practical technical architectures with right models, services and data sources.
• Build and validate prototypes and proofs of concept for feasibility and value.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists and data engineers to scale from prototype to production.
• Design agentic solutions including tool calling, orchestration and memory patterns.
• Integrate AI with enterprise apps, APIs, data platforms and cloud services.
• Build reusable AI components, services, APIs and architectural patterns.
• Evaluate AI models, frameworks and platforms for performance, security and cost.
• Incorporate security, privacy and governance in every design with cross-team input.
• Set up evaluation, monitoring and LLMOps practices for production AI solutions.
• Document architectures and implementation guidance.

About the opportunity

You’ll be part of a regional AI team, working where business strategy, AI engineering, software architecture, data and cloud meet. Your job is to turn real business challenges into secure, responsible, production-ready AI solutions.

This is a hands-on architecture role. It suits someone who enjoys digging into business problems, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, and working with engineers and stakeholders to take solutions from idea to production.

What you’ll do

• Design end-to-end AI solutions: Generative AI applications, LLM-powered workflows, intelligent agents, RAG solutions, virtual assistants and intelligent automation.
• Turn business requirements into practical technical architectures, choosing the right models, services, data sources, integrations and infrastructure.
• Build and validate prototypes and proofs of concept to test feasibility, business value and architectural options.
• Work with AI engineers, software engineers, data scientists and data engineers to take solutions from prototype to production.
• Design agentic solutions, including tool calling, orchestration, memory, retrieval and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, vector databases and cloud services.
• Build reusable AI components, services, APIs and architectural patterns that serve several business use cases.
• Evaluate and recommend AI models, frameworks and platforms, weighing performance, scalability, security and cost.
• Build Responsible AI, security, privacy and compliance into every design, working with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy and Quality teams.
• Help set up evaluation, monitoring, observability and LLMOps practices for AI solutions in production.
• Document architectures, technical decisions, integration patterns and implementation guidance.
• Keep up with developments in Generative AI, agentic AI and cloud AI platforms, and spot where they can solve meaningful problems.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Science, AI or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in software engineering, solution or cloud engineering, data/AI engineering or solution architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing and building AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.
• Solid working knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector search and AI agents.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs, microservices and cloud-native applications.
• Strong Python skills, and the ability to build prototypes and reference implementations.
• Good command of engineering practices: version control, testing, CI/CD and DevOps.
• Awareness of AI security, data privacy, Responsible AI and governance in enterprise settings.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to weigh technical trade-offs and explain them clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary, distributed teams.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) and Spanish.

Nice to have

• Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock or similar enterprise GenAI platforms.
• Agent and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen or CrewAI.
• End-to-end RAG implementation: document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval strategies and evaluation.
• Azure AI Search or other vector database / enterprise search technologies.
• LLMOps: model and prompt evaluation, tracing, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Containers, Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, MedTech, financial services or other regulated industries.
• Cloud, AI or architecture certifications (Microsoft, AWS or equivalent).
• Portuguese is a plus.
