Bluelight is a growing software consultancy expanding across the Americas. We seek a backend-focused developer with 5+ years of experience to design and build scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS. Strong SQL, RLS, and multi-tenant architecture skills are essential.

You will work with React on full-stack tasks and participate in CI/CD and testing practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with global clients, overlap US business hours, and hold a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience, backend-focused.
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS and scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services and PostgreSQL/AuroraDB with RLS.
• Secure multi-tenant environments and SQL/schema migrations.
• Proficient in React and testing practices, including integration tests.
• Overlaps US business hours and holds a Bachelor's degree.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused)
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours
