Bluelight is seeking a senior backend developer to design and implement scalable, low-latency APIs and services. You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, contributing to secure multi-tenant systems and real-time data processing.

The role emphasizes rigorous testing, integration tests against real databases, and collaboration with frontend work when needed. Flexible hours and remote work options are offered.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused)
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours

Preferred Qualifications
