WSP in Colombia is seeking a Financial Project Manager to lead financial aspects of strategic projects from inception through completion, ensuring budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and reporting are well controlled. The role collaborates with Project Managers, Controllers, Financial Analysts and leaders to deliver accurate financial insights, manage risks, and drive improvements across project portfolios.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree or MBA is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in project financial management and PMO environments.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial control, and performance analysis for complex projects.
  • Experience in engineering, infrastructure, construction, consulting, or professional services.
  • Strong knowledge of cost management, budget control, profitability analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Experience presenting financial reports to executive leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management across organizational levels.
  • Excellent project management skills in multicultural environments.
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher).
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CPA, CFA are assets.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the financial planning, management, and control of projects through their lifecycle.
  • Coordinate development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Oversee revenue, costs, margins, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Partner with Project Managers to achieve financial objectives.
  • Analyze results, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes for projects.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level financial reports.
  • Monitor KPIs to evaluate project performance.
  • Identify financial risks and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to Project Controllers and Analysts.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and audits.
  • Participate in strategic planning and financial capacity analysis.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation in finance.

WSP is seeking a Financial Project Manager to lead and coordinate the financial aspects of strategic projects from inception through completion. This position will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of project budgets, forecasts, financial controls, cash flow, and reporting processes, supporting both decision-making and overall project financial performance.

Working closely with Project Managers, Project Controllers, Financial Analysts, and business leaders, the Financial Project Manager will play a key role in financial analysis, risk and opportunity management, and the implementation of corrective actions to ensure the successful achievement of financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial planning, management, and control of projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Oversee project revenue, costs, margins, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure financial and contractual objectives are achieved.
  • Analyze financial results, identify variances, and recommend timely corrective actions.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities related to projects.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial and operational KPIs to evaluate project performance.
  • Identify financial risks, optimization opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide guidance and coordination to Project Controllers and Financial Analysts regarding project financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, financial procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Participate in strategic planning, financial capacity analysis, and business decision-making processes.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process automation, and financial efficiency initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or specialization in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in project financial management, financial planning, project controls, financial PMO environments, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial control, and performance analysis processes for complex projects.
  • Experience within engineering, infrastructure, construction, consulting, or professional services environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cost management, budget control, profitability analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial reports to executive leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial information and translate findings into strategic business recommendations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across multiple organizational levels.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience working in multicultural environments.
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher), both written and verbal.
