WSP in Bogotá seeks an Electrical Designer or Junior Electrical Engineer with experience in low voltage distribution, EV charging exposure, and PV integration to support transit projects. You will develop electrical drawings and specifications under a Professional Engineer, contributing to concept to detailed designs.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in design/drafting, strong knowledge of LV/MV networks, and fluency in English to coordinate with international teams.

Formación

• Requires Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Engineering technologist.
• 2+ years of relevant design/drafting experience.
• Hold the title of engineer in training or equivalent.
• Excellent knowledge of 600V/MV electrical distribution networks.
• Excellent command of the Canadian Electrical Code and local additions.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

• Develop electrical projects from preliminary studies to detailed engineering.
• Prepare CAD/Revit drawings: site plans, single line diagrams, panel schedules, communication diagrams, material takeoffs.
• Draft equipment and installation specifications under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Conduct site electrical analysis and evaluations along with system studies.
• Write purchase and construction quotes for equipment installation.
• Prepare and analyze bids and tender documents.
• Ensure deadlines and quality of deliverables.
• Represent the firm to clients.

Position: Electrical Designer / Junior Electrical Engineer

Reports to: Technical Director – Transit Bus & Fleet

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Designer or Junior Electrical Engineer with expertise with low voltage distribution systems design. The ideal candidate will have exposure to EV charging systems, solar PV integration, and sustainability-driven electrical design. The Electrical Designer / Junior Electrical Engineer is responsible for preparing all required electrical drawings for the conceptual design provided by the Professional Engineer with support of a Senior Designer. These may include drawings for medium voltage distribution, low voltage distribution, networking, site layouts, and foundation details.

• You will participate in the development of electrical projects, from preliminary studies to detailed engineering.
• You will be familiar with design, operation/control and protection philosophies of LV and MV electrical systems.
• You will prepare CAD/Revit drawings including but not limited to site plans, single line diagrams, panel schedules, communication diagrams, and material takeoffs under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
