The Nuclear Company in Colombia seeks an experienced Document Controller to manage engineering and construction documentation within the project’s Common Data Environment, ensuring accurate classification and tracking from issue to closeout.

You will maintain EDMS, supervise transmittals, revisions, templates, and metadata standards, and collaborate with IT and project teams to safeguard records and ensure compliant, auditable documentation across the lifecycle.

Formación

  • 3–5 years of document control experience on large projects.
  • Familiarity with document numbering, metadata standards, and taxonomy schemes.
  • Knowledge of NRC/DOE regulatory frameworks and ISO 9001 is preferred.

  • Manage formal transmittals between project team, engineering, contractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor document review workflows to ensure timely completion and resolve issues.
  • Maintain and enforce document numbering conventions, metadata, and classification standards.
  • Ensure staff use templates for consistent, accurate documentation.
  • Respond to requests for up-to-date drawings, specs, procedures, and policies.
  • Archive and synthesize project documentation per archiving schedule.
  • Support redline and as-built processes and assemble document sets.

About the role

The Document Controller is responsible for managing and organizing all engineering and construction-related documentation for a large-scale infrastructure project operating within the project’s Common Data Environment and coordinating with contractor and vendor document control teams. Works closely with the project team to ensure that document management processes, numbering conventions, and metadata standards are followed by project members. Implement policies and procedures with direction from the Manager of Document Management and the Project Management Office. The Document Controller will maintain the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and ensure that project documents are up-to-date, properly classified and labeled, and accurately tracked from issue to closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the EDMS to meet the needs of the project, assist project staff in using the system, provide training to new employees
  • Manage formal transmittals between the project team, engineering, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Monitor document review and comment resolution workflows to ensure timely completion
  • Maintain protocols for tracking document revisions
  • Maintain and enforce project document numbering conventions, metadata, and classification standards
  • Ensure that project staff use document templates to maintain consistency and accuracy
  • Respond to requests for up-to-date documentation including drawings, specifications, procedures, and policies
  • Synthesize archived and current project documentation, archive project drawings, specifications, policies, and procedures per the archiving schedule
  • Support redline and as-built documentation processes and prepare document sets and work packages
  • Conduct regular audits of document management systems to ensure policies and procedures have been followed
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure that project staff keep documents, document systems, and data secure
Experience
  • 3 – 5 years of document control experience in large engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects
  • Deep understanding of document control best practices
  • Familiarity with document control software and systems, and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction terminology and processes
  • Experience applying document numbering conventions, metadata standards, and classification and taxonomy schemes in large capital projects
  • Knowledge of records retention and disposition best practices
  • Understanding of NRC/DOE regulatory frameworks, NQA-1, ISO 9001, and electronic record keeping standards is preferred

Estimated Starting Salary Range

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $121,000 - $143,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
