Bold Business is seeking a Workspace Planner to translate client needs into detailed layouts and installation drawings for a US-based client in the commercial furniture sector.

The role requires CET Designer and AutoCAD expertise, strong project coordination, and knowledge of ADA/LEED/WELL standards. You will manage multiple timelines, liaise across vendors and field teams, and ensure exact BOMs while maintaining quality and budget compliance.

• Minimum 3 years of industry-specific experience in contract furniture dealership or commercial interior design firm.
• Advanced proficiency in CET Designer and AutoCAD; extension experience with brands like Kimball, Steelcase, Herman Miller, or Haworth preferred.
• Proven track record of managing project workflows, deadlines, and coordinating technical information across cross-functional teams.
• Deep technical understanding of contract furniture systems, electrical/data feeds, and site installation constraints.
• Familiarity with ProjectMatrix, Hedberg, or similar ERPs and lead-time tracking.
• Knowledge of ADA compliance, LEED, and WELL Building standards.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; client-facing or vendor-facing experience.
• Post-secondary credentials in Interior Design, Architectural Design Technology, Drafting, or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Design Execution: Partner with Account Managers to develop space plans, typicals, and installation drawings using CET Designer and AutoCAD.
• Project Lifecycle Coordination: Own the design timeline for multiple accounts; track deliverables and milestones.
• Specification & Accuracy: Generate precise bills of materials and value-engineer furniture selections within budget constraints.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Bridge communications between Account Managers, clients, vendors, and installation teams to resolve design issues.
• Data & Revision Tracking: Maintain project records, track revisions, quotes, and site measurements.
• Quality & Code Control: Ensure all layouts adhere to local building codes, ADA compliance, ergonomics, and client standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Learn new manufacturing extensions and drive workflow efficiencies.

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, and community-minded Workspace Planner to support our U.S. based client that deals with top office furniture brands. In this role, you will translate client needs into detailed layouts, value-engineer optimal furniture solutions, and generate accurate parts lists and technical installation drawings. The ideal candidate holds a background in Architectural Design Technology or drafting, communicates professionally, and thrives under pressure while managing multiple tasks independently.

• Design Execution: Partner with Account Managers to develop high-quality space plans, typicals, and installation drawings using CET Designer and AutoCAD that maximize space and budget.
• Project Lifecycle Coordination: Own the design timeline for multiple concurrent accounts; track deliverables, manage the internal design intake queue, and ensure critical milestones are met.
• Specification & Accuracy: Generate precise, zero-error bills of materials (parts lists) and value-engineer furniture selections against strict budget constraints.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact to bridge communications between Account Managers, end-clients, manufacturing vendors, and local field installation teams to resolve design discrepancies or lead-time issues.
• Data & Revision Tracking: Maintain meticulous project records, tracking design revisions, architectural change orders, quote modifications, and site measurement updates.
• Quality & Code Control: Ensure all layouts strictly adhere to local building codes, ADA compliance, ergonomics, and client-specific tech/electrical integration standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously learn, adapt to new manufacturing extensions, and bring fresh workflow efficiencies to the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of dedicated, industry-specific experience within a commercial contract furniture dealership or commercial interior design firm (ideally in a dual Design and Project Coordination capacity).
• Advanced proficiency in Configura CET Designer and AutoCAD (extension experience with major brands like Kimball, Steelcase, Herman Miller, or Haworth is highly preferred).
• Proven track record of managing project workflows, tracking deadlines, and independently coordinating technical information across cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
• Deep technical understanding of contract furniture systems, ancillary products, electrical/data feeds, and real-world site installation constraints.
• Familiarity with dealership project management workflows, quote generation tools (e.g., ProjectMatrix, Hedberg, or similar ERPs), and manufacturer lead-time tracking.
• Knowledge of ADA compliance, LEED, and WELL Building Standards.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; highly comfortable and professional in client-facing or vendor-facing environments.
• Post-secondary credentials in Interior Design, Architectural Design Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
