Job summary

Confidential Company in Bogota, Colombia is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function and report to the Regional Financial Controller. This role will oversee monthly close, cash flow forecasting, A/R/A/P, payroll coordination, internal controls, and staff development.

The ideal candidate has US GAAP experience, a CPA or equivalent, 5+ years in a similar role, and may travel. Fluency in English is required to communicate with head office and global leaders.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the accounting function including closing the books each month and reporting the operating results by the fifth workday each month.
• Coordinate payroll disbursements and entries with the payroll provider.
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled to the supporting detail on a monthly basis.
• Institute effective internal controls to safeguard the assets of the company.
• Manage and develop the Accounting staff.
• Prepare all required statutory filings.
• Provide financial support to the local and regional management teams, and global leaders.
• Coordinate the completion of the annual budget and monthly forecasts as applicable.
• Work with Country Management to reduce investments in A/R and Work in Progress.

Job description

Multinational company with approximately 50 employees and located in Bogota, Colombia is currently searching for a Controller. This role will report to the Regional Financial Controller.

Primary job duties

• Full responsibility for the accounting function including closing the books each month and reporting the operating results by the fifth workday each month.
• Responsible for A/R collections support, sending customer account statements monthly, and weekly review of the A/R aging with local personnel.
• In charge of A/P payment input into the online banking, and request payment approval online. Review cash balance, prepare cash flow forecast, and payments of I/C.
• Coordinate payroll disbursements and entries with the payroll provider.
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled to the supporting detail on a monthly basis.
• Institute effective internal controls to safeguard the assets of the company.
• Manage and develop the Accounting staff.
• Ensure the Company's International Accounting Policies & Procedures are followed.
• Work with vendor in the preparation of the Company's annual income tax return and monthly VAT returns.
• Coordinate the year-end audit, if needed.
• Prepare all required statutory filings.
• Provide financial support to the local and regional management teams, and global leaders.
• Prepare report for forecast, billed revenue by client quarterly, cash flow forecast, capital forecast.
• Provide timely replies to inquiries made from the head office.
• Coordinate the completion of the annual budget and monthly forecasts as applicable.
• Work with Country Management to reduce investments in A/R and Work in Progress.
• Coordinate administration functions as necessary.
• Uphold the code of conduct at all times.
