Job summary

Roca Alliances is seeking a Software Engineer I, Back End (Kotlin/Java) to join the product development team behind the Insider Risk Management product. You will build backend services and APIs that process billions of events on AWS, collaborating with UX, PM, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend development.
• Experience with Kotlin (primary language) or Java.
• Experience with testing frameworks.
• Experience with data stores such as PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
• Experience with Agile or lean development processes.
• Ability to deliver critical features with discipline and rigor.
• Able to communicate technical ideas in writing and verbally in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement code independently and with teammates, with monitoring and testability in mind.
• Write unit and integration tests for the team’s code.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot across the technology stack.
• Write infrastructure as code and manage deployments of team services.
• Assist with production issues and participate in on-call rotation.
• Document code and write design documents; review others' work.
• Contribute to process improvements within engineering.
• Collaborate with product owners, UI/UX designers, QA analysts, and others.
