A finance-oriented company based in Colombia is seeking an Associate Controller to support its finance team in managing accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years' experience in public accounting or corporate finance. Responsibilities include assisting in financial statement preparation, maintaining general ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS reporting standards, along with proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, is essential.

Formación

  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate finance.
  • Experience with financial reporting to multinational listed entities.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • B2+ or C1 English level is required.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist in preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journal entries for various transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial analysis.

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Controller to support our finance team in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to key accounting functions while developing expertise in corporate financial management.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations
  • Review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation for various transactions
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Support external audit processes and respond to auditor requests
  • Help ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial analysis and reporting
About You
The essentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate finance
  • Experience with financial reporting to multinational listed entities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • A B2+ or C1 English level is required.
