Job description

Join a team working alongside Mastercard as a Technical Product Manager, bridging business, design and engineering to drive the vision, roadmap and execution of payment solutions in a regulated, high-security environment. 5+ years of product leadership experience required.

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager with at least 5 years of experience leading digital products, to join a team working alongside Mastercard, one of the world's leading payments technology companies. The selected candidate will act as the bridge between business, design and engineering, driving the vision, roadmap and execution of solutions within a technical, regulated environment with the high security standards typical of the payments industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy and roadmap, aligned to business objectives and the OKRs/KPIs agreed with the client.
  • Translate business and client needs into clear technical requirements: user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog in collaboration with engineering, UX/UI, architecture and QA teams.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure the feasibility of solutions, with a solid understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows and system dependencies.
  • Lead and/or actively participate in agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives), facilitating team decision-making.
  • Monitor product and business metrics (adoption, performance, quality) and analyze data to iterate on and prioritize improvements.
  • Manage local and global stakeholders, including direct communication in English with Mastercard teams and counterparts.
  • Help ensure the product meets applicable security, compliance and risk management requirements.
  • Document and maintain up-to-date product specifications, ensuring traceability and accessibility for all teams involved.
  • Track features and solutions post-launch, incorporating user and client feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements (Must-Have)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, ideally on B2B products, platforms or solutions with a strong technical component.
  • Solid technical understanding: systems architecture, REST APIs, integrations and data flows (coding is not required, but a clear grasp of the technical 'how' is).
  • Experience working under agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban): backlog management, user stories and ceremonies.
  • Prior experience on projects with international or large-scale corporate clients/stakeholders; experience in financial services, payments, banking or fintech is especially valued.
  • Advanced/fluent English, spoken and written (minimum C1) — constant communication with English-speaking teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with product management and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Productboard, Figma or equivalent).
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience in the payments, fintech, banking or financial services industry.
  • Experience working directly with or for large global corporate clients/brands.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and data analytics tools.
  • Prior technical background (engineering, QA or development) before moving into a product role.
  • Experience collaborating on go-to-market (GTM) strategy alongside Sales/Marketing teams.
Suggested Certifications

The following certifications are not mandatory, but they are a strong differentiator and help assess the candidate's level of specialization:

  • CSPO – Certified Scrum Product Owner (Scrum Alliance): Solid grounding in the Product Owner role within agile teams; widely recognized by enterprise clients.
  • PSPO I / II – Professional Scrum Product Owner (Scrum.org): A highly regarded alternative to CSPO, with a practical focus on backlog management, prioritization and value metrics.
  • SAFe POPM – Product Owner/Product Manager (Scaled Agile Inc.): Industry standard in large, complex organizations; highly relevant for working in an environment like Mastercard with multiple teams and dependencies.
  • Certified Technical Product Manager (Product School): Specific focus on the technical side of the role: APIs, architecture, and the software development lifecycle.
  • CPM / CPMM (AIPMM): Vendor-neutral certification covering strategy, product lifecycle and regulated industries.
  • PMI-ACP – Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI): Valuable for candidates who combine agile practices with project governance, common in enterprise accounts.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect Associate (AWS): Provides technical grounding in cloud architecture, useful when discussing APIs and integrations with engineering.
