BHP Chile is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities for major capital projects at Escondida. You will apply your background in commissioning, project delivery, and strategic planning to drive execution and value.

This role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, operations readiness, procurement, and controls teams while promoting a safe, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Process).
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Bilingual Spanish-English; written and spoken, desirable.
• Relevant commissioning experience in mining major projects with emphasis on copper projects or EPC/EP+C levels.
• Experience at owner level in the mining sector is advantageous.
• Experience in study and execution-related copper processes such as flotation, leaching, and tailings.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead commissioning strategy, standards, processes, and plans for major capital projects.
• Support development and execution of capital optimization programs to improve efficiency.
• Provide commissioning expertise and coordinate resources for study team deliverables.
• Act as single point of contact for the Project/Study manager for commissioning deliverables.
• Coordinate execution of commissioning methodologies in line with program systems and standards.
• Conduct data-analytics on commissioning execution, optimization, and improvement projects.
• Lead value creation through continuous improvement of program standards and procedures.
• Monitor planned, actual, and forecast resource levels to support project execution.
• Coordinate risk and quality management plans for the commissioning scope.
