Job summary

AgroFresh is seeking a Staff Accountant for a hybrid role in Lampa and Rancagua, Chile. You will craft journal entries under US GAAP and local standards across international entities and drive month-end close with strong financial controls.

Collaborate with LATAM teams to optimize reporting in a multinational setting. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in accounting, advanced Excel and SAP experience, and bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Hands-on SAP experience.
• Experience performing reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and local standards across multiple international entities.
• Drive accurate and timely month-end close activities.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations using SAP and BlackLine.
• Review intercompany transactions and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage accounting for accruals, prepayments, payroll, VAT, and GR/IR accounts.
• Support VAT, withholding tax, EC Listing, and Intrastat compliance activities.
• Review payment proposals and help maintain strong financial controls.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams to support business objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and local accounting standards across multiple international entities.
• Drive accurate and timely month-end close activities.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations using SAP and BlackLine.

What The Job Requires

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on SAP experience.
• Experience performing account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
• Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
