Senior Software Engineer (Chile)

Join Sezzle as a Senior Software Engineer based in Santiago, Chile. This full‑time role focuses on building scalable, high‑quality backend and frontend services that support our ever‑growing consumer payments platform.

Compensation

Competitive monthly salary range: $5,000 – $8,500 USD. This range reflects 8+ years of experience and leadership at senior levels.

Location

Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile (on‑site). Candidates may relocate within Chile or elsewhere in Latin America for future opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and deliver new features in Golang (backend) and React (frontend) at large scale.
• Build and maintain a resilient distributed architecture, ensuring consistency while scaling highly.
• Collaborate with Product, Support, and business stakeholders to deliver market‑winning products.
• Collect metrics and drive continuous improvement of existing products.
• Mentor teammates and help elevate the team’s technical skillset.
• Lead small development teams on projects to market when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality, scalable, and innovative solutions to internal and customer problems.
• Unblock teammates, mentor, and mentor senior teammates.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of full‑stack software engineering experience.
• Experience building REST APIs in Go and Java/Python or a similar language.
• Experience designing and serving distributed, cloud‑based architecture (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka).
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• SQL‑based RDBMS via an ORM tool.
• Observability platforms like Prometheus, NewRelic, or Datadog.
• CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Containerized micro‑service architecture deployed with Kubernetes on AWS.
• History of delivering commercial APIs and web applications.
