Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Sr. Staff Platform Operations Engineer to design, run, and automate our Linux-based infrastructure across on-prem and cloud. You will own deployment, reliability, and automated management of core IT services with a security-first mindset.

You will build IaC pipelines using Terraform and Ansible, manage storage platforms, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Security and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, compliant infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with hybrid on-prem and cloud.
• Strong Linux systems administration and automation background.
• Hands-on with IaC and version control for deployment automation.
• Familiarity with storage arrays (PowerStore, Pure) and enterprise security.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and support on-premise and cloud-based Linux infrastructure and core IT services.
• Develop and champion IaC/automation frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS.
• Implement security best practices, patching, hardening, and configuration management.
• Build deployment pipelines for IT infrastructure services using GitHub/Git and scripting.
• Collaborate with IT Systems, CloudOps, Security, and Engineering to design scalable solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Design and administer enterprise storage platforms (Dell PowerStore, Pure Storage).
• Mentor junior team members.
