Senior Java Developer with Slot Games experience

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developerwith a strong background in developing slot games, ideally within the real-money iGaming industry. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience building and maintaining backend systems for slot games, with a solid understanding of game mechanics, performance, and reliability.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience with Java and with hands‑on experience developing slot games, preferably for real‑money iGaming platforms to be considered for this role. Candidates with experience exclusively in social games, casual games, or other gaming genres without slot game development experience will not be considered.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend systems for slot games.

Implement and maintain game logic, including reels, paylines, bonus features, and payout calculations.

Develop and integrate APIs with gaming platforms and external services.

Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of gaming applications.

Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize existing systems, and maintain code quality.

Collaborate with game developers, QA engineers, and product teams to deliver new features and games.

EXPERIENCE

5+ years of professional Java development experience, including strong backend development skills.

3+ years of hands‑on experience developing slot games, preferably for real‑money iGaming platforms.

Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL databases.

Experience implementing slot game mechanics, including RNG integration, paylines, bonus rounds, and payout logic.

Understanding of gaming mathematics, RTP (Return to Player), and game fairness principles.

Experience with performance optimization, debugging, and automated testing.

Familiarity with regulated iGaming environments is a plus.

Good communication and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Initiative and drive to do great things.
