Fluor Corporation is seeking a Design Lead (Piping) to oversee large-scale piping design efforts on critical projects. You will supervise design teams, coordinate engineers and drafters, and ensure technically sound, cost-effective solutions across project phases.

The role requires extensive field experience, strong communication, and a solid command of piping design standards. International assignments and a competitive benefits package accompany a senior-level responsibilities.

Formación

  • Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent and extensive work experience.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide supervision to Design Supervisors on large projects.
  • Guide and assist project Design Engineers, Supervisors, Designers, Specialists, and Drafters.
  • Develop cost-efficient total project solutions for discipline design work.
  • Develop estimates, schedules, and progress reports; forecast workforce.
  • Establish and monitor material quantities; provide forecasts.
  • Develop and review specifications and design criteria.
  • Participate in equipment and material procurement and subcontracting.
  • Supervise and check complex piping drawings including isometrics and P&IDs.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This position has oversight of a specific area, and acts as a representative of the department in ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace, by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as Design Lead on assigned projects of difficult complexity design scope.

  • Provide supervision to Design Supervisors on large projects
  • Provide guidance/assistance to project Design Engineers, Supervisors, Designers, Specialists, and Drafters
  • Develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline design work
  • Develop estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts
  • Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
  • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
  • Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines Piping
  • Supervise development and checking of complex piping drawings including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics and sketches
  • Supervise piping input to piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID), update to master P&ID and pipe line list
  • Supervise and support sub-disciplines consisting of Piping Material Engineering, Piping Material Control, Stress Engineering, and Process Graphics
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty-five (25) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-seven (27) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
  • Practical field experience
  • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $50,526,500.00 - $93,473,500.00
