Job summary

FullStack is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to work with Laravel and Go microservices on client projects. You will join directly a client team, collaborating with designers and engineers to build scalable backend systems for high-traffic launches.

Requirements include 5+ years in backend software engineering, advanced English, and a four-year college degree. Experience with payments or fraud pipelines is a plus, as is exposure to Next.js or React Native. Remote work with PT hours is supported.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Advanced English is required.
• A four-year college degree is required.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining core monolithic backends with Laravel and PHP; experience extracting and rewriting to Go microservices.
• Experience scaling backend infrastructure for high-traffic launches and high concurrency.
• Experience with on-call engineering and SLAs (e.g., 15 minutes).
• Familiarity with payments, redemptions, or fraud prevention pipelines is a plus.
• Exposure to frontend/mobile stacks such as Next.js or React Native is a plus.
• Ability to work standard business hours aligned with the Pacific Time zone.
• Strong ownership, problem solving, and CI/CD capabilities.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams and large, complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Integrate directly into the client's team and collaborate daily with designers and engineers.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain backend services using Laravel/PHP and Go microservices.
• Scale backend systems to support high-traffic product launches and peak loads.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and perform on-call duties with strict SLAs.
• Deliver high-quality, maintainable code and contribute to library development as needed.
