Qualifications

• High school education or the equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of custodial, janitorial, facilities, groundskeeping, or closely related experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, hold staff accountable, resolve routine workplace issues, and provide clear and timely feedback.
• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, dependability, and skill in custodial duties in previous years.
• Possesses computer and word processing skills.
• Familiarity with all materials and equipment used in the care of the building and grounds.
• Possesses the ability to maintain congenial, positive, and productive working relationships with students, staff, and the public.
• Has good communication skills; can follow written and oral instructions as well as provide clear written and oral instructions to custodians.
• Ability to pass a skills test.

Responsibilities

• Provide students, staff, and visitors with a safe, attractive, clean environment in which to learn and work.
• Lead, supervise, train, schedule, and support custodial staff; monitor conditions and performance.
• Coordinate custodial services for daily operations and events; ensure district procedures and safety standards are met.
• Oversee that the building and premises are kept neat and clean at all times.
• Maintain an inventory of custodial supplies, equipment, and perform general maintenance.
• Open and close the building daily and ensure doors/windows are secure.
