BHP Chile is seeking a seasoned professional to lead continuous improvement and the BHP Operating System (BOS) adoption across VP Projects MinAm. You will coach and develop teams, translate strategy into actionable plans, and drive value through standardization and best practice replication.

Location: Santiago. The role emphasizes data analysis, change management, and collaboration with VP Projects, Asset, Functions, and PCoE/BCoE to deliver high‑impact results.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mining operations or projects.
• Experience with portfolio management, project controls, and BOS or continuous improvement.
• Advanced knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and related methodologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to train and coach teams.

The challenge Ahead

The purpose of this role is support team focused on the implementation and sustaining of BHP Operating System (BOS) bringing coaching, training and deliverables in VP Projects MinAm, to seek opportunities for value creation and preservation by setting program‑wide strategies for standardization, replication of best practices and continuous improvement. Coaches and develops team leaders / teams to deliver high performance and improve their process.

• Support team focused on implementation of BOS and other regional/global initiative


• Coach and develop the VP Projects team to deliver high performance results through the BHP Operating System.


• Support the implementation and best practices of the routines aligned with BOS.


• Maintain close interaction with key stakeholders from VP Projects, Asset, Functions, PCoE and BCoE to:


• Ensure progress of the 14 practices of BOS in VP Projects,


• Translate regional and global strategy into operational plans for the team.


• Capture feedback, understand voice of the customer, and identify improvement opportunities to ensure excellence in the service delivered. Confirm that team efforts are aligned to customer priorities.


• Capture good practices, and opportunities for replication and knowledge sharing, aligned with the Projects One Team approach.


• Conduct presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience.

Requirements

What We Expect From You

• Minimum 5 years of experience working on mining operations or projects with focus in portfolio management, projects control, operational / projects excellence, BOS or continuous improvement, data analysis and reporting.


• Profession: Civil Engineer / Business / Finance, entitled.


• Apply an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision‑making, productivity and value chain performance.


• Verbal and written effective communication skills, including the ability to transmit information and complex ideas.


• Demonstrated ability to identify key / critical working relationships within and across teams and promote the effective development of these relationships.


• Lead change management activities of a complex cultural transformation. Applies and evaluates change management tools, methods, purpose, value and strategic direction.


• Identify, implement and evaluate the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve the safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes.


• Experience to presents data in a format that enables a variety of stakeholders to easily grasp difficult concepts.


• Ability to facilitate alignment and decision making in the context of conflict and opposing views, in line with our values chart.


• Able to work effectively on improvement projects of different complexities and share and transfer knowledge within the teams.


• Ensure planning and execution of improvement initiatives across functional boundaries.


• Advanced knowledge in the operative application of continuous improvement and operational excellence tools and methodologies, such as: Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and others.


• It is desirable to have technical knowledge and experience in mining operations, large‑scale project planning and design, and project execution.
