The European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile is seeking an early career Computer Engineer to support IT Operations, projects and collaborations, ensuring continuous operation of our Linux-based control systems at observatory sites in Chile and connections to ESO Headquarters in Germany.

The Linux and Automation Engineer will work within the IT Operations Chile Group, collaborating with La Silla Paranal Observatory departments and the broader ESO IT team to implement secure, automated

Formación

Experience in Linux infrastructure for control systems.
Ability to implement automated IT operations.
Experience with configuration management and monitoring.
Collaborative work with international teams.

Responsabilidades

Ensure reliable, secure, automated operation of the Linux infrastructure for control systems.
Develop and maintain automated systems administration practices, with lifecycle management for telescope and instrument control.
